Crochet Cat Couch Pattern by Crafters Autonomous

Hey, crafters! I’m working to rewrite some of the blog articles I lost, and thought the cat couch patterns would be a great place to start. In this article, I’m going to share the pattern for the crochet cat couch made from a single crocheted piece, and in another article I’ll share the pattern for the 10 rectangle crochet cat couch method.

I have a full video tutorial for this project as well, so be sure to reference that for additional information.

I made my cat couch to fit over some styrofoam pieces I hot glued together.

I saved this styrofoam from a food delivery box. The pieces are 1.25inches thick, and I cut out 3 pieces measuring 6″x9.5″ and 2 pieces measuring 4″x7.25″. Two of the large pieces stack to form the seat, and the third large piece stands upright for the back. The two smaller pieces attach to the sides to form the arm rests.

You could also opt to just stuff your cat couch, and you can change the dimensions to whatever size you want. Personally, I like making a solid frame as the basis because it helps me see exactly how the crochet pieces comes together.

Now, on to the pattern!

This pattern is specifically for the dimensions shown in the video, but you can add extra crochet stitches to make a larger crochet cat couch. The video walks through adjusting the pattern, but here I’m going to share the exact stitches I used in the video to make a crochet cat couch from the above styrofoam dimensions.

Materials:

Weight 4 yarn (I’m not sure how many yards I actually used, and this will vary if you make a different sized couch)

Size h/5.00mm hook

Tapestry needle (to sew couch together)

Scissors
