Hey, Crafter! Can you believe the year is already half-way over? Now, it’s no secret 2020 has been a crazy year: a lot less “yeah, I’ve got 20/20 vision!” and way more “whoaaaa we’re halfway there, whoaaa livin’ on a prayer!”
So, what does the world need in the midst of this crazy year? A little more Christmas.
Yes, you read that right, it’s time for Christmas in July! If you keep up with my YouTube channel, you may already know about the #ChristmasInJulyFairies giveaway happening across the yarn community. But if not, I’ll get you up to speed!
First off, I’m a huge fan of Christmas and all it represents. So when one of my followers reached out and told me about a Christmas in July giveaway hosted by creators on YouTube, I knew I wanted to be a part! This event was started by Dana from Dana’s Wanderlust Crochet, but it has grown to include dozens of creators and channels.
To enter, search the hashtag #ChristmasInJulyFairies on YouTube. When you find a channel that is participating, watch their #ChristmasInJulyFairies video and follow their rules to enter. To enter on my video, just comment, like, and subscribe! Some channels want you to answer a specific question, so make sure to watch their whole video and show your support.
Then, on July 15th, each channel that is participating will randomly select a comment from the comments on their #ChristmasInJulyFairies video. If your name is chosen, you become a semifinalist! Lastly, on July 25th, aka Christmas in July (which I erroneously said in my video is 6 months until Christmas; it’s actually only 5!!!) Dana is going to randomly draw from the list of semifinalists to get our Grand Prize Winner.
The Grand Prize Winner will then receive a gift from all the channels that participated in the giveaway! I’ve got a few ideas on what I might send the winner, and I can’t wait to send the winner (maybe it will be you!) my gift.
I’ve shared some #ChristmasInJulyFairies videos in this blog post, but there are dozens more channels out there for you to discover! I’ve enjoyed discovering and connecting with new channels and watching my own crafting family grow.
So, get over to YouTube, search the hashtag #ChristmasInJulyFairies, and start entering. Good luck!
